It was passed midnight,
I was close to sleeping,
Under the moonlight,
With crickets chirping,
The silence is broken,
By a "handy" cellphone,
Immediately I awaken,
To silence the ring tone,
I answered the call,
I mumbled a "hello",
One of my pillows fall,
I stop felling mellow,
After a minute or two,
There was still no reply,
I had no idea what to do,
I waited as time passed by,
I started to count sheep,
And I said "hello" again,
I was ready to fall asleep,
"Rest now" said my brain,
I did my best to stay awake,
To the monotonous silence,
I said "Oh for God's sake!",
Thinking of a next sentence,
I hear an unfamiliar voice,
It captured my attention,
Even through the noise,
Awaiting a connection,
I heard it again once more,
A voice strangely missed,
My ear was getting sore,
But I wasn't even pissed,
The line started to clear,
I heard her voice perfectly,
Her sweet voice so dear,
The one I missed so badly,
We both had loads to say,
We spoke till daybreak,
A start of another day,
The end of heartache,
I could hear her sighs,
I didn't want this to end,
It was time for goodbyes,
Time wasn't being a friend,
We both hit the "red" button,
That's when my eyes opened,
Head still on very soft cotton,
It was only a dream that ended,
She was by my side all this while,
Dreaming calmly without a care,
Asleep with a beautiful smile,
Radiant like a flower so rare,
I kissed her whilst holding her,
Feeling her warmth was all I need,
I prayed we'll be this way forever,
Forever living in a dream indeed.
